Dr. Carolyn Chase received her degree from UCLA School of Medicine in 1983, then completed residency at Ventura County Medical Center in 1986 and a teaching fellowship the following year. After working at Colonia Clinic, Los Madres Medical Group, and the West Ventura Family Care Center, Dr. Chase joined Primary Medical in July 1998.

Dr. Chase is known for her caring manner and thoroughness, and for the extra time and effort she puts into making each of her patients comfortable. She strives for high quality and is happy that being a family physician allows her to see a wide variety of medical problems in people of varying ages.  She especially enjoys her long-term relationships with patients.

Outside the office, Dr. Chase enjoys traveling, recreational reading, and music of all kinds, from the classics to classic rock. She has had a lifelong interest in nature and the sciences, and in learning new things. She also likes a good long walk, especially in Cambria, California where she often spends long weekends.  Since becoming a grandma 2 years ago life has become even more interesting and fun!

Dr. Chase was raised in Ventura and went to college at Santa Clara University.  She lives in a renovated 1896 home; she and her husband can walk to downtown Ventura events, restaurants, and the beach. They enjoy frequent visits with their two adult children and their spouses, grandchildren and extended family nearby.
