Dr. Jacob West has known since childhood that he wanted to be a doctor. Growing up in Idaho, he watched his father work as a physician and was inspired to combine his love for science with a passion for helping others. It was in high school, after taking his first biology class, that Dr. West realized he wanted to pursue a career in medicine. He studied Cellular and Molecular Biology at Westmont College and went on to complete his medical training at Loma Linda University.

Dr. West was drawn to Ventura County after completing his residency at Ventura County Medical Center. His wife’s family is also local, making it an easy decision to settle in the area. Dr. West’s favorite aspect of practicing medicine is building personal relationships with his patients. He’s passionate about educating them and guiding them to make informed life choices, viewing medicine as a partnership. He works alongside his patients to help them achieve their health goals.

Outside the clinic, Dr. West enjoys spending time outdoors with his wife. Whether biking, running, surfing, camping, or skiing, he’s always ready for adventure. You can often find him riding the waves or reading Lord of the Rings on the beach while enjoying his favorite Mexican food. Dr. West loves Ventura for its laid-back beach vibe, and he especially appreciates the supportive staff at PMG.
