Dr. Uldine Castel became part of the Primary Medical family in June 2012. Dr. Castel has been a strong presence in the Ventura medical community for many years, most recently as physician/owner of Family Medical Practice, along with Dr. Jeffery King.

Dr. Castel’s care for her patients encompassed geriatric care, women’s health, pediatric medicine and HIV/AIDS care. Dr. Castel works with the Immunology Clinic in Ventura, treating patients and working as a liaison with public health officials in the county. Dr. Castel graduated from Temple University Medical School, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She completed her residency at Ventura County Medical Center in Ventura with a full spectrum Family Practice residency with training in Obstetrics.

Dr. Castel has a love for travel, which has taken her on many volunteer experiences. For two years she was the Associate Director and Medical Project Assistant in Rurrenabaque, Bolivia, where she assisted in the development, implementation, and delivery of a rural medical relief project. She has also traveled to Mali, Africa as a physician in a mobile bush clinic, where she dispensed medical care to villagers and nomadic peoples.

In her spare time, Dr. Castel is on a competitive crew/rowing team and she also enjoys cooking.
