Get to know Zena Aladdin!

Zena felt a natural calling to medicine and nursing since she was 9 years old while caring for her father, who she calls her first ever patient, when he was diagnosed with a rare autoimmune neuromuscular disease. She views her role with patients as a partnership, striving to listen to their needs, provide education and focus on prevention and health care maintenance.

Her undergraduate studies were at the University of California Diego and San Diego State University where she earned a bachelor’s of science degree in health science and public health. She worked in community health research with grants from the National Institutes of Health for programs to prevent diabetes and improve cardiovascular health. She later attended the University of California San Francisco where she earned her nursing degree and later master’s degree as a family nurse practitioner. She was born and raised in Ventura County and is excited to be back home and serving her community.

Outside of work, Zena enjoys spending quality time with her family and rescue dog, hiking around Ventura County, cooking, spending time at the beach and doing Zumba fitness.
